CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST

SA Psychology & Wellness is growing again! As a result, we are seeking a psychologist who is passionate about working with children and adolescents to join our team. We offer flexible work arrangements with availability for up to three days of clinical work from our practice in Henley Beach. There is also an opportunity for adult clientele and/or couples, if desired.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Must possess the highest regard for your patients, your profession, our referrers, the community, our administrators and our practice
  • Provide high-quality, client centred, evidence based clinical assessment and treatment to clientele
  • Passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Assess, diagnosis, and counsel patients with the highest level of clinical care to determine best outcome treatment planning
  • Keep appropriate, up to date and accurate clinical records in line with all governing body requirements
  • Implement, monitor and review treatment plans
  • Adhere to practice protocols while engaging active and positive relationship building with SA Psychology & Wellness team members

 

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:

  • Must have prior experience working with children and adolescents
  • Fully registered psychologist
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Eligibility to procure a Medicare provider number at SA Psychology & Wellness
  • Professional indemnity insurance or ability to procure
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues
  • Work well within a team setting while simultaneously being able to manage one’s own responsibilities without direct supervision.
  • Solutions-focused attitude.

 

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Clinical endorsement from AHPRA
  • 5+ years in a clinical setting
  • Board approved supervisor

  • You place emphasis on attention to detail, including vital, albeit redundant, tasks, such as GP letters, patient notes, internal and external communications, and professional interactions with other clinics
  • You are kind, approachable, warm, independent, and assertive. You possess the diplomatic skill to remain calm under pressure, displaying pensive and supportive behaviour in the face of adversity
  • You realise the value of working within a practice’s operating procedures and standards
