Lidia Tagliabue
Psychologist

Lidia is an outgoing and enthusiastic psychologist who strongly believes every person deserves to have a dedicated therapist by their side. Lidia takes a holistic approach to psychological treatment, which means she looks at the body-mind-soul connection that informs much of the trauma work and healing she delivers. She understands that access to mental health support can be challenging but her non-judgemental and understanding nature allows her to empathise deeply without being afraid to gently challenge clients to explore their deeper selves when feeling safe to do so.

Lidia’s academic and professional training has taken her from Adelaide to Townsville, all the way down to Tasmania where her passion for child and adolescent therapy established whilst working in rural and remote communities. Lidia has provided psychological treatment in community settings, private practice, and school settings. Lidia has extensive experience with complex mental health, employment assistance programs and unemployment, perinatal mental health, NDIS, workers compensation, Police Force and first responders.

There are many different modalities Lidia uses within therapy, including techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Play Therapy alongside many other treatments.

Lidia has capacity to provide therapy to children and adults (inc. those that are neurologically diverse) with a particular interest in the following areas:

– Anxiety, Mood, and Adjustment Disorders
– Work life balance and Burnout Prevention
– Stress Management
– Self-Development (inc. esteem, confidence, and self-compassion)
– Attachment
– Relational Trauma
– Meaning and Value

In addition to practising as a Psychologist, Lidia is also passionate about lecturing Global and National Health, First Nation People’s health and Mental Health topics at the University of South Australia. Lidia is particularly interested in epidemiological research and the impacts of COVID-19 on mental health and is currently exploring animal-assistance therapy training with her friendly golden retriever.
