Yes!

In response to demand, we have been able to continue building and improving our team of clinicians and support staff. As a result, we are able to offer more appointments to better serve the community.

We endevour to accommodate as many patients as we can in a timely manner. At times, there may be a longer wait to see a therapist than we would like, as the need for mental health support services is currently high.

To see appointment availability, you can CLICK HERE or call our office on 08 7081 1477.

We have two locations.

Our primary location is 208 Military Rd, Henley Beach SA 5022.

Free street and garage parking are available.

Our secondary location is at 63 Cudmore Terrace, Henley Beach SA 5022

We are located across from Western Hospital at the Western Specialists Centre. Street parking and a carpark next to the building are available.

No. You are not required to get a referral from your GP to see a psychologist.

If, however, you would like to access a Medicare rebate for your visit with a psychologist, you will then need to see your GP to get a mental health care(treatment) plan.

DVA White card and Gold card holders need a mental health care plan from their GP. We need to verify your eligibility to ensure you are entitled to psychological benefits before your first visit. Give us a ring on 08 7081 1477, provide us with your DVA# and we will check for you.

You are welcome to attend as a private health cover client.  Simply schedule your appointment with a psychologist and your rebate will be processed at time of payment.

We accept NDIS self-managed and approved plan-managed patients.

We support ACA, AFLPA, DCP and many other 3rd party payors. Please contact us if you would like to enquire as to whether or not we can accept payment from your support organisation.

If you do not require a rebate of any kind, you are always welcome to simply pay the standard fee.

Sessions are 50 minutes or 80 minutes. Normally, individual sessions are 50 minutes and couples sessions are 80 minutes.

SAP&W does not bulk bill. If you are in need of lower cost support, we encourage you to visit our alternate support options page.

Late Cancel/ No Show Policy:

We understand that life happens and sometimes you may need to cancel your scheduled appointment. Cancellations must occur by 9AM the BUSINESS DAY prior. Cancellations made after this time will incur a $125 late cancel fee. If you are unwell, let us know and we will change your session to a telehealth appointment. No Shows and appointments cancelled less than 2 hours prior will incur the full session fee.

Late cancellation fees, while unfortunate, help both psychologists and patients. They ensure that the therapy process runs smoothly and effectively for both parties, serve as an incentive to commit to scheduled therapy sessions, respect the psychologist’s time, and encourage an active role in treatment.

For psychologists, these fees serve as a deterrent against last-minute cancellations or no-shows, which can result in lost revenue and wasted time. By implementing these fees, psychologists can better manage their schedules and reduce the likelihood of gaps in their appointment books. Furthermore, it eliminates the need to overbook, thus allowing the clinician to provide the highest levels of support at all times.

Fee Schedule:

50 Minute Session: $275

80 Minute Session: $420

Safe and Sound Protocol: $600. Service includes one(1) 50 minute session with Dr Petra Becker, access to the Unyte SSP program for one month, and progress updates with Dr Becker during the month.

Support Letter (up to 30 minutes): $175

Support Letter(30-50 minutes): $225

*Fees listed do not apply to Dr Julee La Mott, clinical director.*

Medicare rebates apply if you have a Mental Health Care Plan. Clients are required to pay the full fee at time of appointment.

Clients using a mental health care plan are eligible to have their gap fees contribute to their medicare safety net. Once a client meets their safety net threshold, their medicare rebates will reimburse up to 90% of the total session fee.  We recommend you learn more to ensure you are receiving your full medicare rebates.

We accept Cash, Credit, Debit, and Direct Deposit.

We process 3rd party payments for eligible clients. We are also an approved provider for the AFLPA and ACA.

SAP&W does not bulk bill. If you are in need of lower cost support, we encourage you to visit our alternate support options page.

Private Health Cover Extras may apply. Please check the amount of your rebate with your health fund.

If you do not need a rebate of any kind, you are always welcome to simply pay the standard fee.

It is unlawful to process a medicare and private health fund rebate for the same service.

Can I get a prescription with a diagnosis?

Yes, many diagnoses are eligible for relevant prescriptions, however, a psychologist cannot prescribe medication. You’ll need to provide your report to a psychiatrist and speak to your GP to better understand your treatment options. You can learn more HERE.

Unfortunately, couples counselling is not covered under Medicare at this time.

If you have private health care coverage for couples counselling, you can access a rebate for couples therapy through your private health fund.

We do not reduce our psychologists fees or bulk bill, however, we do accept the following:

  • Mental Health Treatment Plans (Medicare- GAP fees apply)
  • NDIS Self Managed
  • NDIS Plan Managed
  • DVA (eligible White and Gold cards- must have a valid DVA#). Mental Health Care Plan required for DVA patients.
  • ReturnToWorkSA
  • Comcare
  • 3rd party payors- we work with a number of 3rd party payors. Contact Us or ring 08 7081 1477 for further enquiries.
