Josh Bower

Provisionally Registered Psychologist

Josh is a provisionally registered psychologist who has completed a Master of Professional Psychology and is currently working toward general registration. Before entering psychology, Josh worked in the construction industry, an experience that shaped his practical, down-to-earth approach and his ability to work with adults, adolescents, and children from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. He is interested in supporting clients to better understand relational patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviour, while developing practical strategies to manage everyday challenges.

Josh values a collaborative, respectful, and non-judgemental approach to therapy. He adapts his work to each client’s individual needs and draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He aims to create a calm and supportive space where clients feel comfortable exploring difficulties, building insight, and develop skills that support meaningful and sustainable change.

Josh has experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, ADHD, and autism spectrum presentations. He has a particular interest in family dynamics and the way relational patterns can influence mental health and wellbeing, and enjoys helping clients make sense of how these patterns show up in everyday life. He also has experience conducting psychological evaluations, including cognitive, educational, and ADHD assessments.
