Has a teacher, caregiver, or health professional suggested an assessment for intellectual or adaptive functioning? Are you seeking guidance for educational planning, access to supports, or NDIS eligibility?
Our assessments are tailored to each person, using a respectful, neuroaffirmative approach to highlight strengths, identify areas of need, and provide practical recommendations for thriving at home, school, work, and in the community.

An intellectual disability assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive and adaptive functioning. It is designed to:
Gather background information about development, education, medical history, and daily living skills.
Use standardised measures to assess intellectual abilities, including reasoning, problem-solving, and understanding.
Evaluate practical skills for daily living, such as communication, self-care, social skills, and independence.
Completed by the individual, family members, teachers, or caregivers to provide a broad perspective on strengths and challenges in everyday life.
The assessment process usually takes around 3 to 3.5 hours and may be completed in a single session or over multiple appointments, depending on individual needs.
Summarise assessment results, strengths, areas of need, and recommendations for supports or interventions.
Review findings, answer questions, and plan next steps together.
Assessments are conducted with sensitivity and respect, recognising that all individual’s abilities and needs are unique.
