Dr Petra Becker is a clinical and counselling psychologist who works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. She is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic environment, taking a humanistic and non-pathologising approach that recognises each client’s strengths and resources.
Petra has a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma, loss and grief, life stage transitions, and complex relationship concerns. She also offers support for workplace issues such as conflict, bullying, and burnout, as well as helping clients manage emotions and stress. Petra is experienced in working with neurodivergent clients and values diversity and individual experience.
Petra’s practice is strengths-based and collaborative, helping clients gain insight and self-awareness to foster motivation for positive change. She has worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, and is dedicated to understanding each client’s unique context.
Her therapeutic approach draws on Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Integrative Psychotherapy, and psychoeducation. Petra works alongside clients to build resilience, wellbeing, and a stronger sense of self.
